It was a random day, going to the Yale Art Gallery for a school field trip. We were given free reign to go anywhere within the city block for lunch before we went inside.
Along with the group, I went to a Shake Shack (for the very first time) ((it was pretty good)). While I was trying to figure out what I was going to order, I had a random idea:
I've always wanted to make like my life at least a little more interesting, and what better way to do that is to lie to strangers I'll never see again! There's nothing better than a good bit.
Getting to the register, I ordered a chicken sandwich or something with a milkshake. When they asked for my name I answered.
A wave of satisfaction hit me, knowing I had fooled the unknowing cashier, utterly embarassing her without even a hint of her knowledge of it. I had won.
Now, any time I have to leave my name for an order somewhere (where I know I won't go back frequently), I know that I have to keep the bit going. It brings me peace.
